the end of the world- as- we- knew it.

Updated: Sep 25, 2020

So, its been seven months since the world as we knew it ended. I'm back to work now but while I'm grateful for the paycheck, it's not the same. My job has gone completely online and I'm going stir crazy being stuck inside my house all day. Uiy.

So to flatten the curve of my slowly spiraling insanity, I've decided to pray more scripture.

Psalm 91 is getting a lot of press right now because of Corona virus; and well it should, it's very apt for this moment in history.

But doing so has made me think of other things I should be praying scripture over also, like singleness.

If you don't already know this about me, I'm single, never married, no kids.

Why, do you ask?

I've never been in love.

I've never met Mr. Right.

I've never had that spark people tell me about where your heart skips a beat because that someone special enters the room.

I hope and pray I have that feeling someday.

A popular Bible verse about the ideal woman is Proverbs 31; there's even a ministry named after it. It gets a lot of attention for how beautifully it describes a godly woman, but there is another side to that coin.

If Proverbs 31 is what a man should look for, what should a woman look for?

I believe I've found the other side to that coin in Psalm 15.

So I've been praying for a Psalm 15 kind of man.

Here it is, Prayer of a Single Woman-

Lord, give me a man who is close to you. Give me a man whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous in your eyes. Give me a man who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue.

Give me man who treats those around him decently and doesn't talk about people behind their backs.

Give me a man who despises evil and does something about it.

Give me a man who honors those who fear you.

Give me a man who keeps his word, even when it hurts and doesn't change his mind with passing trends.

Give me a man who is wise with money and has enough integrity to never accept a bribe.

Give me a man whose trust in you will never be shaken.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

Duet by the great Glen Keane

I'd rather be single than compromise this dream.

I've even found a song for this season of my life. It's called Wait It Out by Jamie Grace. The lyrics are all about waiting for Godly standards of Love.

Enjoy. ;-D

And whoever you are, wait for me.
